Hello! I'm Dani and I'll be playing Kino from the novels Kino's Journey: The Beautiful World. Kino here is a traveler, who is on a journey, usually astride a talking motorcycle named Hermes. Together they visit different countries for three days and two nights before moving on, often contemplating life and human nature along the way.

And/or getting into gunfights. As you do.

Anyway, to address the elephant in the room right off the bat: Kino here is female, but her dress and demeanor allows her to pass for male, and the vast majority of people she encounters mistake her as such. There's cases of extremely sharp and observant people catching on during her three day stays, but it's pretty rare. I'm going to leave it up to you all to decide if/when your characters figure it out and what they decide to do with this knowledge. And if you're uncertain of anything, feel free to hit me up!

Additionally, Kino's Journey gets pretty dark at times, and if prompted Kino may discuss these things (albeit very clinically/bluntly). There's a lot, so please let me know here if there's anything that may be a concern.

So I may have screamed when I saw Kino on the reserve list. And you're playing her from the novels?! Oh man. I admit I still haven't tracked the translations down again, so my clearest memories are of the anime, but... well, if she wants stories, she will get stories.

Pretty sure Eric's just going to go with "well, this is someone dressed as a man, acting as a man, must be younger than I thought" - the concept of women passing for safety isn't one he's unfamiliar with (hell, he's got a famous ancestress who did), but it's also not one he's going to immediately think of upon meeting someone... or really consider unless prompted, he's from a sort of campy B-movie 1917.

Admittedly the fan translations of the novels are... not always the greatest! But they're enough, and I read up so I'd have lots of material to work from. I'm excited to have that here, please ask Kino things so I can dispense knowledge :3c
